Connect BaseShot to Claude
Last updated:
Connect your BaseShot account to Claude and you can ask about your screenshots and recordings right in the chat. Paste a link to catch up on a recording, find something from last week, or reply to a teammate without switching apps.
What you need
A BaseShot account. If you don't have one, you can create it when you connect. Your assistant can reach the same files and links your account can reach, and nothing else.
Connect to Claude
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Find BaseShot and click Connect.
- Sign in to BaseShot and approve the connection.
- In a chat, turn BaseShot on from the + menu under Connectors.
Things to try
- “Summarize this recording: https://baseshot.io/s/…”
- “What are the steps in this walkthrough, with timestamps?”
- “Find my recording about the checkout bug.”
- “What did people say in the comments on this link?”
- “Reply to Sara’s comment and say the fix is ready.”
- “Rename this recording to Onboarding walkthrough.”
- “Make this link private.”
- “Move this file to the Design team workspace.”
What your assistant can do
- See your account name, email, and workspaces
- List and search your screenshots and recordings
- Read a share link: the screenshot, the transcript, the text in it, and its comments
- Read comments and post comments and replies as you
- Rename a file
- Move a file to another workspace
- Change who can open a link and who can comment
- Delete a file, after you confirm
Taking screenshots, recording, and uploading happen in the BaseShot desktop app. To do those with an agent on your computer, see BaseShot for AI agents.
You stay in charge
Your assistant only uses BaseShot when you ask it to, and it acts as you. Your assistant checks with you before it deletes a file. To disconnect, remove BaseShot from your connectors in Claude. Your files stay in BaseShot.
